Thank you for your post this week. I agree with you that our world is engulfing with technology. Covid 19 pandemic has changed some of our style of delivery of health care overnight (Rutledge&Gustin,2021). I am wondering if nurse leader is prepared for this massive change in telehealth our nurse leader had to quickly develop action plan to this rising challenge and they has to continue to develop strategy ( Harris, 2020).These are some of the technology I appreciate to a bed has extended the ability to monitor patients. It might seem unusual to add technology to a bed, but nurses can receive updates from smart beds on the activity of their patients. Examples of these updates include alerts of patient movement that are generated from sensors that can recognize when the client try to get up or bed height and side rail position. This monitoring can prevent falls (Baylor University 2022).
You have mention of a potential risk of lack of understand of technology for some client. I believe with the changing of our society everyone should have access to the to internet because it is an important part of all individual life and the digital divide if unable to access by patient can cause great distance and time and can be frustrating between client and doctors. Because the client is unable to reach their doctor or access the patient portal. However this gap can be reduce by letting house whole rural areas to access high-speed internet services for lower cost for individuals with lower household incomes (Turcios,2023).
